    System One is seeking a Remote Associate Scientist in Mobile Alabama.


    Summary:
    Perform a variety of office tasks pertinent to the assigned projects. Such tasks will primarily include coordination of asbestos and lead assessments and abatement projects of varying scope and complexity. Other office

    activities may include:
    preparing and/or reviewing technical reports, data entry and providing technical guidance to vendors and clients. In addition to working in the office, there may be occasional opportunities to assist
    with field activities such as subsurface investigations (groundwater and soil sampling) and/or industrial hygiene monitoring. Under close supervision, performs a variety of environmental sampling and analytical tasks by applying basic scientific techniques.

    The Scientist at this level is in a developmental mode, being trained in the utilization of relevant theories and practices, and gaining exposure to Company procedures.

    Performs various scientific tasks related to environmental or hazardous waste projects such as field work, sampling, and assisting in report preparation.

    Some assignments involve the use of computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, etc.). Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.


    Responsibilities:
    Performs various field and office tasks requiring the application of basic scientific principles and fundamental theories.
    Reviews and analyzes data collected in environmental sampling programs.
    Researches and compiles background data in support of an environmental project.
    May assist in permit application development.
    Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be
    appropriate.


    Requirements:
    Bachelor's Degree in a science curriculum is preferred. Long-term experience will be considered in place of a degree.
    Must live in Mobile Alabama & be able to go into the office anywhere from twice a month to 1 x per week
    Familiarity with software packages typically associated with the discipline is preferred.
    Working knowledge of asbestos/lead regulations preferred, but not necessary.

    Valid driver's license and clean driving record and the ability to travel to field sites in Alabama and neighboring states.

    Demonstrated proficiency in both written and oral communication sills.

    Additional Details 6 Month-Temporary contract that might develop into permanent depending on workload.

    $21-$37 an/hour depending on experience.
