    Summary

    AutoZone is looking for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer as a Senior Engineer for Layer 7, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining Layer 7 solutions for our organization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop scalable and secure Layer 7 architectures, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.

    The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Layer 7 technologies and possess excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

    Key Responsibilities

    Design and implement Layer 7 solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring high availability, scalability, and security.

    Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into technical requirements for Layer 7 architectures.

    Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation, including architectural diagrams, configurations, and procedures.

    Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to Layer 7 services, collaborating with other teams as needed.

    Optimize performance and scalability of Layer 7 solutions, monitoring and tuning them to meet service level objectives.

    Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in Layer 7 space, evaluating their applicability to our environment.

    Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

    Participate in the planning and execution of disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for Layer 7 services.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of Layer 7 solutions with other systems and services.

    Conduct periodic security assessments and audits of Layer 7 infrastructure, implementing necessary controls and remediation plans Requirements:

    Bachelors degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

    6 to 8 years of experience in designing, implementing, and supporting Layer 7 solutions in a large-scale production environment.

    Strong expertise in Layer 7 protocols and technologies such as HTTP, SSL/TLS, API gateways, load balancers, and reverse proxies.

    Proficient in programming languages such as Java, C++, or Python, with experience in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, PowerShell) for automation tasks.

    Experience with Layer 7 solutions, including but not limited to APIGEE, NGINX, Apache HTTP Server, and Kong.

    Solid understanding of network protocols and concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, and switching.

    Strong knowledge of security principles and best practices in Layer 7 environments, including web application security and authentication mechanisms.

    Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and container technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.

    Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues efficiently.

    Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

    Certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator, or related certifications are a plus.

    Strong knowledge in monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Elastic Search, Splunk or APPD.

    Requirements:
