    Position Summary:

    The Risk Management Specialist will be responsible for reviewing accounts to minimize loss, research control issues, and represent the a MGU in risk management. The individual will be responsible to perform their duties with a high degree of competency and minimal level of supervision.

    Essential Functions:
    • Have an intimate knowledge of resources and services available to insured organizations and responsible for matching resources and services to identified exposures and monitoring of progress
    • Research and respond to broker or insured's correspondence, calls, inquiries regarding risk management/loss control issues, and develop and/or provide resources/written responses.
    • Review accounts from a risk management/loss control perspective to develop a proactive plan in preventing or minimizing loss. This includes loss analysis to identify any trends and recommend loss control solutions and also participate in Large Account review process to ensure services are delivered according to plan.
    • Act as a liaison between the insured and/or broker and the Risk Management Department with carriers by assisting the insureds or brokers when they are unhappy with the service provided by a Loss Control Rep or do not understand loss control recommendations.
    • Responsible for representing MGU at national, state, and regional conferences to present on field related topics, manage exhibit, develop a network with a focus on cultivating new business for the agency, and writing post conference reports to identify potential clients, possible partner relationships, and any field trends identified.
    • Conduct resource and service review with insured organizations and/or brokers
    • Provide ideas for topics/articles and do research for topics/articles to be included in our newsletters and other periodicals.
    • Work in a cooperative manner with other departments.
    • Train new employees.
    • Manage Surveys pending including due dates and updating account files in MGU systems.
    • Review and process completed surveys, issue recommendation letters and follow up on recommendations to the point where it is turned over to the underwriter.
    • Assist with special projects, reports and assignments as required.
    Education/Experience/Skills:
    • Bachelor's degree in Insurance or related line of business field preferred
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in insurance or related line of business required
    • 2 years experience in a supervisory role preferred
    • Ability to travel to meet with provider organizations
    • Strong organizations skills, work ethic, and keen attention to detail
    • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
    • Customer service oriented

    The target salary range for this position is $65,000-$115,000 annually. The wage range for this role considers many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, licensure and certification, business needs, and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. Full-time roles are eligible for bonuses and benefits.
