    Business Development Manager - Midwest

    Our industrial segment is seeking an experienced business development manager to help us sell the products and services that our customers have grown to rely on. We are looking for a candidate that has experience in penetrating new markets and growing businesses. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the sales process, excel at generating leads and acquisition of new customers building relationships, and closing deals.

    The ideal candidate will be an adaptive learner with strong negotiating skills, and the ability to showcase our solutions in a compelling way. Often tasked with giving presentations, attending customer meetings, and attending trade shows, it is essential that our sales representative be personable and professional.

    Responsibilities

    • Create and maintain a database of existing and qualified leads, contacts and accounts through internet research, telephone calls, referrals, cold calling, e-mail, trade shows, and networking. This list and supporting details, call notes, etc. shall be maintained in the company provided CRM.
    • Demonstrate selling skills over the phone and in-person and maintain industry specific product and market knowledge through all product lines and services of the company.
    • Work within the C&I Group and collaborate with Marketing Department to successfully implement effective communication to assist with prospecting and market penetration leading to further growth in all channels to market.
    • Sell as a consultant and strive to always be viewed as a resource that can provide solutions to presented problems. Demonstrate the ability to carry on an external business conversation with owners, presidents, vice-presidents, sales managers, sales agents, purchasing agents, as well as customer service.
    • Maximize all opportunities during the closing process to take market share and gather useful information from all competitors and competitor product lines and services.
    • Follow a business plan as set forth by the company which details all activities to follow allowing the Account Manager to meet or exceed the sales quota.
    • Complete understanding of pricing principles and approval models set forth by the Vice President of US C&I Sales.
    • Complete company generated electronic order forms and/or be a key contributor to the customer order placement process to ensure process improvement, order accuracy and timeliness to deliver on the highest level of customer satisfaction.
    • Be a key contributor to the projections and forecasting process at the direction of the Vice President of US C&I Sales.
    • Review customer orders daily in company business system to ensure accuracy of order components, as well as all customer requirements.
    • Travel, including overnights will be required of approximately 25%. Educational on-site customer presentations, trade shows and joint customer sales calls will be required as well.
    • Submit accurate expense reports and documentation to the required internal department working within a required budget.
    • Maintain the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees. Build trust, value others, communicate effectively, and collaborate with others to help solve problems and stay focused on the customer. Always maintain a professional working relationship with all support departments.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree preferred, can substitute with experience.
    • 4 to 7 years of sales experience is required.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, and organizational skills.
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word.
    • Proven historical ability to meet sales quotas.
    • Ability to travel at least 25% of the time to customer meetings and events.
    • Relevant experience in Industrial HVAC or Process Manufacturing is an asset.
