    Summary:

    Ensures that the IT infrastructure is sufficiently robust, scalable, and efficient to deliver the integrated services underlying the physical environment that supports the processes, physical resources which include facilities, hardware, software, and tools. Checks the performance of the server, the configuration of the network and ensures connection to the network. Responsible for updating the hardware components of the network and server. Has administration and configuration knowledge of end user applications, operating systems, virtualization, networking gear, servers, and storage and how to troubleshoot problems across areas.

    Responsibilities:
    • Experience developing desktops (Windows 10, 11) and Server images (Server 2016, 2019)
    • Familiar with upgrading Windows between MS feature releases as we are moving from 1909 to 20H2.
    • Understanding what Services, Apps and Tasks that are baked into each new build and be able to strip those away and secure the environment per DoD policies.
    • Fluent in building out task sequences using SCCM/MECM for workstations.
    • An understanding of the difference between how to build desktop images between physical and virtual platforms.
    • Aligning desktop software and determining build limitation based on hardware deployed.
    • Demonstrates knowledge in the architecture of their SCCM/MECM environment.
    • Experience with scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) and automating the installation/configuration of repeatable tasks.
    • Experience packaging and deploying 3rd party applications using SCCM/MECM.

    Additional duties:

    • Install new hardware and software making sure that all components (hardware and software) interface correctly with each other and the network including new servers, backup drives, MS desktop/server operating systems, etc. To include base software and applications installed on servers such as antivirus, desktop/system monitoring tools, Serial Peripheral Interfaces (SPIs), system monitoring tools, etc.
    • Engineer and implement designs related to upgrades and enhancements involving all IT Infrastructure, servers, firewalls, circuits, cabling, Active Directory (AD), DNS, network monitoring tools, and other special systems.
    • Work with other teams and groups to resolve various outages, major network issues.
    • Develop technical briefings and reports for written and oral presentations.
    • Provide expert knowledge and recommend innovations to enable effective and efficient solutions.
    • Perform long range planning to ensure technology refresh requirements are timely.
    • Write research documents detailing possible solutions addressing customer requirements to include pros and cons, estimated materials and costs, and high-level work breakdown schedule associated with each solution.
    • Provide detailed engineering plans for systems design and implementation. Systems may encompass multiple areas of technology such as local and wide area networking, infrastructure, distributed server architecture, operating systems, and applications.
    • Use server-monitoring tools to optimize, improve, expand, and reduce server and network capabilities and connectivity.
    • Participate in CAB meetings to discuss the build and release items with the team and find roadblocks, if any
    Qualifications:
    • Minimum of 8 years of SCCM/MECM engineering/administration experience, ideally within the federal theater
    • DevSecOps deployment model - Understanding of Agile methodology. CMMI, ITIL a plus
    • Server administration - Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (Microsoft Server 2016/2019, RedHat Linux 6+ - Desired)
    • Disaster Recovery Planning to include command and control, cloud based, and traditional data center
    • Remote Access Technologies mobile (Apple/Android), VPN, DMVPN, IPSec, VDI (Citirx/AWS Workspace/Azure)
    • CM and Change Control
    • Various Monitoring Tools SCOM, Solarwinds, etc.
    • Develop and coordinate detailed proposals for implementation of new technologies
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Team leadership skills
    • Collaborative engineering with other team members
