A NYC agency located in New York, NY is looking for a Mainframe Systems Programmer for a long term contract (24+ months).

Education

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of experience in relevant technical field is required.

Experience/Qualifications

• Must have experience with VTAM and TCP/IP.
• 10+ years of experience working with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, IOCP/HCD. Basic IBM utilities (IDCAMS, IEFBR14, etc.) program product installations, working knowledge of the IBM virtual tape system and Unix System Services.
• Working knowledge of CICS, IMS, DB2 and AFP printing is a plus.
• Experience in using monitoring tools such as OMEGAMON.
• Working with an enterprise-wide, large-scale implementation.
• Excellent communication skills (Oral and written), interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.
• Experience with mainframe CPU installs as a systems programmer consultant.

Responsibilities

• Ongoing maintenance (installation, patching, upgrades, administration, etc.,) of the mainframe z/OS operating system, accompanying storage systems and systems software products (e.g., database, transaction server, security management, scheduling, report distribution, etc.), and UNIX Systems Services.
• Upgrades of mainframe and related storage.
• Provide production off-hour coverage (if necessary) and support periodic weekend implementations.
