    Description

    Position Description:

    Larson & McGowin, LLC is seeking qualified candidates to assist with the forest management of client properties located in Birmingham, Alabama. Responsibilities include timber inventory, timber marking, timber sale preparation and administration, the development of stand-level silvicultural prescriptions, contracting of forestry-related services, and other consulting activities.

    Candidates will occasionally participate in consulting/field projects across the U.S. Southeast. Travel outside of the local area will be required approximately 20% of the time. All necessary travel costs will be reimbursed.

    Qualifications and Abilities:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Forestry or related field
    • Microsoft Office suite knowledge and experience
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Time management skills
    • Ability to work in remote outdoor locations in various weather and forest conditions
    • Team collaboration and operation skills

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 0-5 years' experience in the forestry field
    • Field proficiency with various forest inventory/mensuration techniques and methodologies
    • GIS software knowledge and experience (i.e., ArcGIS)
    • Registered Forester or meet the requirements to obtain this designation within 2 years from date of hire
