Position Summary:
The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Villanova University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Computer Engineering starting in August 2024.
Candidates are sought in the broad area of computer engineering including, but not limited to, computer hardware and architecture, embedded systems, computer networks, secure and dependable computing, artificial intelligence (AI) hardware, quantum computing, cloud computing, and very large-scale integration (VLSI) design.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department at Villanova University has a wide array of existing research areas of computer engineering, including AI, computer architecture, VLSI and digital design, hardware security, post-quantum cryptographic engineering, trusted computing, system networking, etc., as evidenced by the recent multiple national and industrial grants.
In addition, the College of Engineering has six research centers providing interdisciplinary research opportunities and is currently under an ambitious expansion initiative that doubles the research space with expected occupancy in Fall 2024.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses at all levels of the computer engineering curriculum, develop new courses that align with their area of research, establish a sponsored and sustained research program, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and supervise research performed by undergraduate, Master's and Ph.
Minimum Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a Ph.
D.
degree in Computer Engineering or a closely related field with strong engineering expertise, a strong record of high-quality publications and a potential to lead an externally funded research program, with a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and innovation.
