    About the Role

    We are seeking an experienced and skilled Telecommunications Specialist to contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of telecommunications systems.

    This journeyman-level position plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient and reliable communication within our program.

    Key Responsibilities

    • System Design and Implementation: Contribute to the design and implementation of voice and data networks, ensuring they meet organizational requirements and industry standards.
    • Equipment Configuration: Configure and maintain telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, PBX systems, and other network devices. Implement changes and updates to optimize performance.
    • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve telecommunications issues, including network disruptions, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions. Provide timely and effective solutions to minimize downtime.
    • Network Security: Implement and maintain security measures for telecommunications systems. Monitor for potential security threats and take preventive actions to protect the integrity of the network.
    • Documentation: Create and update comprehensive documentation for telecommunications systems, configurations, and procedures. Ensure accuracy and accessibility of documentation for troubleshooting and training purposes.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, IT professionals, and end-users. Collaborate on projects and initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency of telecommunications systems.
    • User Support: Provide support to end-users for telecommunications-related issues. Offer training and guidance to ensure users can effectively utilize communication tools and systems.

    Requirements

    • SECRET level clearance
    • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field
    • 6 years of proven experience as a Telecommunications Specialist or in a similar journeyman-level role
    • Strong knowledge of telecommunications systems, protocols, and equipment
    • Proficiency in configuring and maintaining telecommunications equipment
    • Familiarity with network security principles and best practices
    • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
