Fairwood Country Club is excited to announce the exceptional career opportunity of Accounting Manager$90,000 - $100,000 BOE
Essential Duties:
Implements and adheres to policies and procedures for the Accounting function, including compliance of all company accounting standards.
Oversees accounting and administrative controls so as to safeguard the assets of the company by reducing theft as well as internal fraud.
Assists General Manager in preparing and monitoring annual budget, monitoring revenue goals as well as generating various (weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual) business volume forecasts.
Monitors and coordinates property plans of overall future objectives, including projection of revenue, cost, net income, cash position, cash management, and capital requirements.
Prepares and Submits monthly financial statements and supporting schedules, that identify actual, budget, variance and over/under based on the plan.
Analyzes various accounting reports such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, various general ledger and monthly financial statements.
Monitors and manages property cash flow and decides the appropriate timing of issuing payment to vendors. Alerts General Manager and Regional Controller when cash flow problems exist.
Prepares, coordinates and reviews with the Regional Controller the closing of year-end books and records.
Recommends to management the implementation of policies, procedures, processes and controls based on continual analysis of current accounting processes.
Establishes accounting protocols and work flows for the property based on property needs, ensuring compliance with Troon Golf accounting standards.
Ensures collection and payment of applicable local, state, and federal taxes. Prepares or reviews preparation of monthly tax reports.
Manages both accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to include but not limited to: processing invoices, preparing statements, making payments, collections, reconciliation, record keeping.
Responsible for training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Manages department members that may include, but is not limited to: Property Accountant, Staff Accountant, Administrative Assistant, Information Technology Manager
Assures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Develops ongoing training programs.
Monitors business volume forecast and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs and other expenses.
Responsible for implementing and maintaining excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
Communicates any changes or new policies and procedures to the department.
Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the General Manager and/or Regional Controller.
Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
Works closely with the Club Treasurer and Club Finance Committee and attends meetings. This includes presentation of the financial package and other analysis as requested by the committee.
Attends staff meetings.
Acts as backup to Accounts Payable Clerk/Human Resources position as needed.
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
May be required: to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, and legal documents, to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
To effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.Mathematical Skills:
May be required: to calculate figures and statistical inference; to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning Ability:
May be required: to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Physical Demands:
Frequently sits, uses hands to finger, feel or handle, reaches with arms and hands, talks or hears. Occasionally stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches.
Occasionally lifts up to 25 pounds.
Vision Requirements:
Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.
Environment/Noise:
Noise level is moderate.

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences
Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or coworkers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
Knowledge of property management system.
Ability to work in a moderately noisy environment with interruptions by members and staff.
Able to maintain a pleasant and professional demeanor when in stressful situations.
