    The Senior Vice President (SVP) of Accounting is a key member of the senior leadership team, responsible for overseeing and optimizing the company's financial operations in a fast-paced and rapidly growing environment.


    This role is critical in shaping financial strategy, ensuring accurate and timely accounting, financial reporting, and forecasting, and driving financial excellence and continuous improvement across the organization.


    This role will oversee the accounting and FP&A functions, including Customer Credit & Collections, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting & Accounting, Supplier & Contractor Payables and Financial Systems.

    This position also plays a critical role in helping the sales teams identify areas to improve profitability.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
    Financial Strategy and Leadership - 35%
    Provide financial guidance to the president and executive team to assist with decisions regarding the company's financial strategy and operations

    Develop and implement financial and operational strategies that drive growth and profitability

    Coordinate the implementation of financial initiatives and projects, and measure effectiveness

    Assist senior management in developing short and long-term financial goals and objectives for individuals and departments

    Participate in developing policies and procedures that support and complement company-wide strategic goals

    Initiate innovative changes and technologies to align with future needs

    Build relationships and collaborate with internal strategic partners and stakeholders

    Represent the company with key outside customers, clients, partners, and providers

    Financial Planning & Analysis - 30%
    Lead the development of financial plans, forecasts, and company-wide operating and capital budgets

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop annual budgets and forecasts, monitoring performance against targets

    Conduct financial research and analysis and provide recommendations to division leaders and president

    Create and maintain multi-variable, predictive financial models, and analyses to support operations and data-driven decision-making

    Assist the sales teams by providing data and analytics to identify areas of opportunity to improve performance and financial results

    Perform ROI analysis on significant financial investments to develop a business, product, technology, or market, as requested

    Accounting and Financial Reporting - 20 %
    Oversee the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and relevant regulations

    Provide technical accounting or subject matter expertise for decision support on complex transactions or situations

    Oversee and optimize the accounting department organizational structure, policies, and procedures

    Conduct periodic reviews of existing policies to ensure effectiveness and that policies are in accordance with evolving regulations, legal requirements, and industry trends

    Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and proactively identify and mitigate financial risks

    Continuously improve and streamline accounting systems, processes, policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy

    Create appropriate financial structure around new lines of business services or partnerships as directed by executive leadership

    Provide technical accounting guidance for the due diligence, purchase and integration of acquired companies

    Team Management - 15%
    Manage day-to-day operations of the accounting function

    Provide leadership through effective goal setting, delegation, and communication

    Conduct regular staff meetings to ensure that associates are well-informed

    Select, train, and retain a high-performing accounting team

    Provide opportunities for growth and personal development so staff can reach their full potential

    Conduct performance appraisals and provide constructive feedback

    Motivate and inspire accounting staff for optimal associate engagement

    SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE)
    May work on special projects or other duties as assigned

    SUPERVISORY/BUDGETARY/EXTERNAL COMMUNICATION RESPONSIBILITY
    Manages a team of 5 exempt direct reports

    May communicates with external vendors and service providers

    QUALIFICATIONS - EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE, CERTIFICATIONS
    Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field

    15+ years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related field

    10+ years of progressive management and leadership experience, with a proven track record of success

    CPA or MBA strongly preferred

    Experience working in staffing, professional services or healthcare is highly preferred

    Experience with Workday Enterprise Accounting and Finance software is a plus

    Experience in M&A (e.g., evaluation, deal drafting, due diligence, negotiation, integration) is strongly preferred

    Accounting or financial system implementation, including requirements, planning, project management, implementation, and support (e.g., ERP implementation, Financial Reporting system, etc.), strongly preferred

    Proficiency in financial modeling and analysis techniques to support data-driven decision-making

    Proficiency in financial systems, ERP software, and financial budgeting/modeling software

    Strong understanding of financial risk management and the ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks effectively

    Ability to resolve high-impact, complex, and cross-departmental challenges

    Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, with advanced Excel skills

    Ability to effectively manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
