    We are currently seeking an Engineer, Hardware Safety Electronics. This position requires an experienced professional in Safety Electronics packaging and mechanical development. Our ideal candidate exhibits a can-do attitude and approaches his or her work with vigor and determination.

    Role
    Responsible for design release of Safety Electronics hardware.
    Support Design Engineers in the mechanical integration and release of Safety Electronics components.
    Maintain PLM data for Safety Electronic Components.

    Work closely with the design studio and interior engineering teams to develop the optimum restraint system packages for occupant protection performance and interior styling.

    Manage Tier 1 suppliers for both engineering development and program timing.
    Work closely with supply chain team to deliver against key program and vehicle milestones.
    Responsible for definition of electrical interface documentation, connector selection, pinout etc.
    Work closely with vehicle electrical harness team to integrate the safety sub-system into vehicle overall electrical architecture.
    Support vehicle homologation team to ensure regulatory compliance of the systems.

    Provide expertise on Safety Electronics system design to meet all vehicle targets (performance, cost, timing, weight, Studio design, quality, manufacturing, etc...).

    Qualifications
    2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience

    In-depth knowledge about the design and engineering of automotive electrical safety systems, direct experience in automotive OEM (preferred) and/or Tier 1 suppliers.

    Enough CAD skills to package the component models into vehicle models, check interfaces with the rest of the vehicle and make small modifications if necessary.

    The ideal candidate should possess enough CAD skills to design simple brackets, fixtures, etc.
    3 Years experience in Catia/NX/Creo
    Knowledge of GD&T and drawing/print creation
    A proven track record of technical excellence in vehicle electrical system development, ideally with experience in any of the specified safety sub-systems
    Knowledge of latest technology advancement in the field of vehicle crash safety.
    Knowledge of vehicle networks and topologies, including CAN, LIN and Ethernet.
    Engineering fundamentals in problem solving.

    Advantageous
    Experience in working with Functional Safety processes and relevant documentation.
    Experience in creation and management of Failure Mode Analysis techniques, including DFMEA.
    Experience developing and delivering embedded system hardware and/or software.
    Experience with CAE Simulation.
    Experience in test equipment design.
    Experience in harness design.
    Experience with electric propulsion systems, including relevant controls.

    The ability to articulate highly technical issues to audiences not in the safety field, such as top management, design studio, purchasing team, etc.

    Excellent people skills to manage suppliers, push the envelope to develop optimal technical solutions, ensure timely delivery of all components.

    Working understanding and application of project planning and task management.
    Have strong ethics, attention to detail and desire to create the very best product.
    Excellent writing, verbal and organization skills.

    Education
    Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience
