    The Assistant to the CEO is a key position that elevates the effectiveness of the Founder/CEO in a high-growth, technical products business. The job requires attention to detail, a sense of urgency, problem solving, communication skills, organization, advanced interpersonal skills, diplomacy, and a professional demeanor. You'll need the ability to track schedules, priorities, projects and deadlines while encouraging the performance of others. Discretion, confidentiality and loyalty are critical. Flexibility, adaptability and patience are important. In this position, the right person will be a crucial contributor to the company's mission.

    Responsibilities

    • Keep CEO's calendar, coordinate calendar with other staff and family
    • Follow correspondence, including email, and assist by making sure critical needs are met with timely responses
    • Compose correspondence and communicate on behalf of the CEO
    • Plan executive and company meetings and catering arrangements
    • Learn CEO's objectives and decision criteria then assist in reaching goals
    • Apply judgment and anticipate needs while meeting CEO's preferences and priorities
    • Research and make travel arrangements for CEO, some team members and family
    • Assist in tracking and overseeing projects including some personal/family endeavors
    • Organize CEO's materials, files, projects and presentations
    • Read, research, edit, format, copy, transmit, analyze, report and archive information
    • Help prepare presentations, reports and slides
    • Liaison and representative of CEO to other executives, staff, vendors and customers, while reporting issues and needed follow-up to the CEO

    Qualifications and Skills


    • Bachelor's degree


    • 5+ years assisting senior execs in high-growth or mid-sized enterprise


    • Experience in executive travel planning


    • Mac OS, Numbers or Excel, Keynote or Powerpoint


    • Strong internet and research skills


    • Legal docs experience helpful


    • Strong writing skills


    • Articulate verbal skills


    • Event planning


    • Professional polish and poise


    • Ability to prioritize according to CEO's needs


    • Experience handling confidential and sensitive information


    • Sense of urgency


    • Diplomacy and discretion
