The successful candidate will be responsible for executing rolling stock commodity strategies that are in support of strategic purchasing initiatives.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer will help develop commodity strategies pursuant to identifying productivity and supplier rationalization opportunities for direct materials.
Will work as a liaison updating and applying information in coordination with international Procurement Team in Spain for the US Procurement Team.
Work directly with vendors to place purchase orders, monitor any updates or adjustments to the orders as needed.Must be able to build rapport with vendors and be able to travel to suppliers sites when needed
Must be proactive and able to use internal resources to solve problems and/or offer ideas and solutions to senior management.
Experience with inventory planning, general purchasing practices, contract negotiations and supplier management.Experience in sourcing/purchasing materials and determining the right vendors based on quality, cost and schedule constraints.
Must have strong Microsoft Office, verbal & written communication skills
Training/Education Required
Associates degree in Business, Operations Management, or Supply Chain or equivalent required, Bachelor's degree preferred
A minimum of two (2) years' experience in a supply chain purchasing role, planning, and/or scheduling is required

Shall comply with all Client safety policies, procedures, and requirements that are communicated to them, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) procedures.
Shall wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that is communicated and supplied to them.Shall keep their respective work area clean and orderly at all times.
Shall attend all Client required training as soon as possible before the start of their assigned work.
Shall NOT operate any Client equipment (forklifts, cranes, scissor lifts) until certified to do so.
