    Technology Education-Automotive Teacher, 1.0 FTE JobID: 7942

    License Required: Minnesota K-12 or 5-12 Technology Education
    Trade and Industry - Transportation Careers or Vehicle Services License, preferred

    Position Overview: The ideal candidate should be dedicated to expanding the opportunities within the Minnetonka Momentum program. This role will concentrate on establishing and executing a fresh automotive pathway in a new facility.

    Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develops customized lesson plans and educational materials, providing tailored instruction to meet the needs of each student.
    • Creates suitable learning experiences based on lesson plans.
    • Sets and enforces behavioral standards to foster a conducive learning environment.
    • Assesses students' academic and social progress, maintains accurate records, and prepares progress reports promptly.
    • Identifies student requirements, makes suitable referrals, and devises strategies for individualized educational plans.
    • Regularly communicates with parents through various channels outside regular class hours.
    • Collaborates effectively with colleagues and supervisors in a supportive manner.
    • Enhances and maintains professional skills by engaging in meetings, coursework, workshops, and seminars to keep updated with the best teaching practices.
    • Participates in a professional learning community consistently.
    • Integrates technology into teaching practices.
    • Performs similar duties as assigned.

    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Collaborates in a dynamic environment interacting with students, staff, administrators, parents, and the community amidst diverse requests and concerns.
    • Supports and liaises with other administrators and staff.
    • Responds promptly in emergency situations.
    • Understands, interprets, and adheres to school District policies.
    • Plans and coordinates activities for paraprofessionals and volunteers.
    • Contributes to goal setting for paraprofessionals.

    Knowledge and Skills:

    • Possesses a background in automotive and a solid foundation to share industry knowledge with students.
    • Demonstrates expertise in teaching fundamental automotive principles, tire repair, diagnostic tool usage, and more.
    • Shows proficiency in daily routines and computer operation.
    • Develops positive relationships with stakeholders.
    • Maintains professionalism when dealing with diverse personalities and situations.
    • Demonstrates initiative and works well independently.
    • Communicates effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and the general public.
