    Job Description

    Senior ITS Operations Technician

    The ITS/Traffic Department is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, highly talented Senior ITS Operations Technician for employment in the Atlanta, GA office. On AECOM projects in the ITS/Traffic Department you will work on ITS and traffic signal projects with a variety of tasks maintaining, designing, specifying and supporting traffic signal system and ITS devices, communication networks, and operations centers. You'll have the opportunity to work on a mixture of ITS project including planning, design, communications networks, operations, data analysis, and maintenance. Many of these will be cutting edge projects that implement the latest technologies for improving surface street transportation. Activities may include, but are not limited to:

    • Assist in ITS and traffic signal operations projects for various clients, following each agency's standards and procedures.
    • Serve as Task Manager and Lead Field Technician as appropriate.
    • Manage client expectations to ensure client is highly satisfied with project(s), and develop new business by fostering existing and new client relationships.
    • Effectively manage project individual and team tasks, coordinating with client, AECOM, and partner members including engineers, planners, and technicians.
    • Work on projects with traffic signals, communication networks, physical infrastructure, logical operations, plans and specifications, construction management, materials specifications review, connected/automated vehicle systems, transportation data science, and data and operations center facilities.
    • Assess performance of traffic signal and communications equipment (including switches and routers, CCTV, traffic detection units, connected/automated vehicle components, and various other transportation management equipment), central software systems (including transportation management, data analysis and dissemination, and network/infrastructure management systems), and prepare reports.
    • Coordinate with agency DOT operations and network administrator clients to implement or manage the implementation of any of the above.
    • Effectively manage assigned projects/tasks and be in responsible charge of task activities and schedule
    • Develop and maintain complex infrastructure documents, diagrams, and audits
    • Mentor/train junior staff
    • Periodic travel required within Georgia and neighboring states

    Qualifications

    Minimum:

    • BA/BS plus 6 years of technical traffic signal and ITS design, construction, operations and maintenance of pole and span support structures, equipment, electrical service, and outside plant communications infrastructure. Or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
    • Valid Driver's License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.

    Preferred:

    • One or more IMSA Traffic Signal certifications.
    • Experience with Georgia and municipal DOT traffic signal and ITS infrastructure
    • Experience with the Georgia 811 Damage Prevention and ticketing system
    • Experience with Georgia DOT traffic signal, ITS, and utility construction plans, pay item and cost administration, and construction project management
    • Experienced in communication (English - verbal and written), time management skills

    The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position typically is $82000 to $140000,
