    JOB TITLE: Senior Accountant / Government Contracting - R24-035

    Estimated Salary Range $100,000 - $150,000

    JOB OVERVIEW:

    We are looking for a Senior Accountant with extensive experience in a Government Contracting environment who has a thorough knowledge of Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), effective interaction with DCAA audit team, and a working knowledge of Internal Control Practices. The Accountant will also have a working knowledge of various tax subjects to include income tax accounting and the proper reflection of tax accounts on the financial statements.

    JOB DESCRIPTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for all accounting transactions, accounting treatment, reporting, etc., for assigned organizations.
    • Participate in monthly close activities for assigned related entities. This may include various journal entries, preparation of account reconciliations, and related variance analysis.
    • Prepare a thorough review of all aspects of the VGI's government contract accounting policies, procedures, and processes to ensure the accounting system is compliant with the prescribed FAR regulations.
    • Responsible for various tax related activities to include maintenance of required schedules, reporting, filing and coordination with outside tax accountants. These activities will include income and property tax in various jurisdictions.
    • Prepare monthly payroll with support from Human Resources and outside payroll provider.
    • Prepare DCAA incurred cost proposal.
    REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
    • BS degree in accounting or finance
    • Five to eight years of experience of accounting experience with five or more years of Government Contracting experience related to CAS and FAR
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Team player and must possess good interpersonal skills
    • Understanding of Internal Control components
    • Income Tax
    • QuickBooks experience preferred

    • Clearance is not required at hire but candidate must be clearable
