    Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Bank Controller to join our dynamic team.

    The Bank Controller will play a critical role in ensuring the bank's financial health and regulatory compliance through effective financial management and reporting.


    Responsibilities:

    Financial Reporting and Analysis:

    Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

    Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks. Provide insights and recommendations to senior management for informed decision-making.

    Budgeting and Forecasting:
    Collaborate with department heads and senior management to develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor performance against budget and provide variance analysis. Implement strategies to improve financial performance and cost efficiency.

    Internal Controls and Compliance:

    Establish and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard the bank's assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including but not limited to Federal Reserve, OCC, and FDIC guidelines.

    Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify any areas for improvement.

    Risk Management:
    Oversee risk management processes, including credit risk, operational risk, and market risk. Work closely with risk management teams to implement effective risk mitigation strategies and monitor risk exposures.

    Regulatory Reporting:

    Prepare and submit accurate regulatory reports to relevant authorities in a timely manner, ensuring compliance with all reporting requirements.

    Stay abreast of changes in regulatory guidelines and make necessary adjustments to reporting procedures.

    Team Leadership:
    Manage a team of finance professionals responsible for accounting, financial reporting, and analysis. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, providing coaching and mentorship to team members for their professional growth.

    Financial Policies and Procedures:
    Develop and update financial policies and procedures to maintain the bank's financial integrity and compliance. Ensure that all policies are communicated effectively to relevant stakeholders and followed consistently across the organization.

    Liaison with Auditors:
    Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process to facilitate a smooth and efficient audit. Address audit findings and implement necessary corrective actions.

    Technology and Automation:
    Explore opportunities for leveraging financial technology and automation to streamline financial processes, enhance accuracy, and improve efficiency.


    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA certification preferred).
    • Proven experience as a Controller or in a senior finance role within a financial institution, preferably within a community bank setting.
    • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting principles.
    • Thorough knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.
    • Proficient in financial software and technology solutions.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
