    ** Heavy Haul Transport Driver - $1,000 Sign-On Bonus**

    Wichita, KS 67216

    **$1,000 Sign-On Bonus Included. No OTR Travel.**

    **Position Summary:**

    This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient transportation of heavy equipment for road construction. Drivers will deliver all types of equipment to construction projects.

    **Duties and Responsibilities**:

    Ability to operate, load and unload equipment safely and efficiently.

    Thorough operational knowledge and skills of operating a commercial motor vehicle and related equipment to be operated.

    Operates semi-truck with one or two trailers, according to state laws. Transports load over required route to proper destination, observing all traffic laws and safety regulations.

    Must keep time and material records through drivers daily logs.

    Must follow verbal and written instruction.

    Must have maneuvering and backing skills.

    Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.

    Connect and disconnect trailers.

    Knowledge of laws and regulations regarding hauling oversized loads.

    Performs miscellaneous service duties such as checking, on a daily basis, oil, water, gasoline, and air in tires. Reports any maintenance malfunctions to Supervisor.

    Minimal travel outside of Wichita area.

    **Qualifications:**

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.     Minimum one year of experience hauling heavy equipment and oversized loads is preferred.

    Must be flexible to work days, nights or occasional weekends.

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

    Ability to communicate using two-way radios.

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

    Must possess a valid state commercial driver's license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements.

    Must meet Department of Transportation physical and medical requirements and pass substance abuse screening; as a safety sensitive employee subject to random substance abuse screening under company policy.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outside weather conditions; and extreme cold and/or heat. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
