Medical Receptionists are the first point of the administrative contact for patients in the office; performing a variety of office functions such as greeting, scheduling, and checking patients in and out for their appointments.

Registers new patients and updates existing patient demographics by ensuring the collection of all necessary documentation for treatment and accurately collects and applies payments of services and products.

Answers the phone while maintaining a polite, consistent phone manner using proper telephone etiquette; Facilitates patient flow by notifying the clinical staff of patient arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff, checking patients in and out for their appointments.

Performs daily schedule and chart scrubs to ensure appointments are scheduled correctly and prior authorization is obtained and documented in a timely manner.

Reach out to patients scheduled with inactive insurance, non-par insurance or no insurance listed.
Notifies surgical patients of financial responsibility for copays, coinsurance, deductibles, or other out of pocket obligations - Verifies and confirms patients information, benefits, and status with various insurance vendors
Navigates through different insurance websites for eligibility, authorizations, payments, and clearances
Contact the patient insurance company to verify coverage.
Stays up to date on payer medical policies and requirements for procedures assigned
