    **Job Description**

    The ITS/Traffic Department at **AECOM** is actively seeking a creative, self-driven, highly talented **ITS/Traffic Associate** for employment in the **Atlanta, GA** office.

    _This position is expected to begin as soon as possible._

    As an ITS/Traffic Associate in the ITS/Traffic Department you will assist with a variety of work including traffic safety, traffic signal timing/operations, engineering studies, traffic signal design, ITS planning, ITS architecture, ITS design, and ITS communications. We regularly perform traffic engineering studies, signal design, and traffic safety engineering studies that include analyses and conceptual designs. If you are the successful applicant, you can look forward to joining a large, dynamic, and highly technical team of engineers and technicians who are driven to provide exceptional traffic and ITS services to our clients. This position reports to one of our project managers.

    The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

    + Prepare traffic engineering reports.

    + Conduct traffic signal warrant analyses.

    + Perform intersection configuration evaluations (ICE).

    + Design intersection improvements such as turn lane additions, roundabouts, restricted crossing U-turns, etc.

    + Assist in Traffic data collection, growth rate determination and traffic forecasting per GDOT guidelines.

    + Assist with development and implementation of coordinated traffic signal timing plans, including building and optimizing Synchro models, developing timing databases, coordinating with agency staff to determine implementation needs/desires, implementing new timings, fine tuning new timings, and conducting before and after travel time studies.

    + Conduct crash analyses and geographic information system work.

    + Prepare safety project studies and designs.

    + Assist with road safety audits.

    + Assist in traffic model development, capacity and operational analysis.

    + Assist in performing planning level macro to micro traffic simulation models to compare present, and future traffic conditions and needs.

    + Assist in creating visual presentations on transportation data.

    + Assist in preparing and reviewing technical documents, alternative analysis reports, and other project-specific deliverables.

    + Collaborate and participate in internal and external team meetings.

    + Lead interns and other junior level staff in assignments as needed.

    + Periodic travel is required within Georgia and neighboring states.

    **Qualifications**

    **Minimum Requirements:**

    + Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Planning from an ABET or similar accredited school + 2 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

    **Preferred Qualifications:**

    + Previous experience in transportation or traffic engineering preferred.

    + Experience in Synchro/Sim Traffic, HCS, and Sidra.

    + Experience with VISSIM or other microsimulation software.

    + Experience in ArcGIS, MicroStation and/or other CAD software.

    + Experience with GDOT intersection control evaluation (ICE) analysis, crash data analysis, alternatives analysis, multi-criteria decision analysis, benefit-cost analysis, and other related planning and engineering tools.

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, good time management skills, self-starter with a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, commitment to quality, and attention to detail.

    + Knowledge of various analysis, reporting, and presentation software such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
