A Brief OverviewThe clinical educator provides and evaluates clinical education for licensed and unlicensed staff on all shifts and facilitates evidenced-based practice.
What you will doCollaborates with unit leadership to ensure staff competency upon hire and annually.
Supports leadership by facilitating staff's adherence to accreditation standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Exhibits leadership skills and ability to coach and develop staff to maintain and promote quality and affect change.
Works collaboratively with the Department of Nursing Education and Professional Development to identify learning needs, develop and implement educational strategies, and participate in learning effectiveness evaluation.
Adheres to the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice of Professional Nursing and the Code of Ethics and the Standards of Practice in Nursing Professional Development roles established by the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD) to include: Educator, Consultant, Researcher, Facilitator, Change Agent, and Leader.
Provides patient care as required.Some off shifts will be required

QualificationsQualificationsEducation(BSN) Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Required
(MSN) Master's Degree in Nursing or related field Preferred
Work Experience
3+ years clinical experience required and
Experience with education, teaching in clinical setting required
Experience working in Perinatal strongly preferred

Knowledge of JC/CMS accreditation requirements Required
Working knowledge of the use of established clinical and preceptorship models in the development of clinical education programs Required
Advanced nursing skills and knowledge in area of specialty Required
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment. Required
Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Ohio Required and
Basic Life Support (BLS) Required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Preferred
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Preferred
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Certification in a specialty clinical area or nursing professional development Required
