We are looking for a mechanical engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience to join a world-class CFD Support and Consulting team.
This position will be based out of either office in Rochester, NY, Toronto, Ontario, or Montreal, Quebec.The right candidate will become a key member of our technical staff, working in an exciting and challenging technical environment.
Success of the Mechanical Engineer will be measured by helping grow SimuTech's CFD business and developing your own technical skills by solving challenging problems in a wide variety of industries.
Each member of our staff is a CFD expert who also maintains expertise in one or more specialized fields. Many of our engineers hold advanced degrees with extensive experience in the engineering consulting business. Functions/Accountabilities:
You will use software such as ANSYS Fluent and CFX to provide:
demos/presentations
on a variety of subjects
Develop quotes/proposals by determining scopes, costs, and schedules
Perform all aspects of analysis (meshing, assigning boundary conditions, solving, post processing, conclusions)
Work with customers to propose alternative design ideas
Write analysis reports and other technical documents requested by the customer
Desired Skills/Experience:
Must be permanently authorized to work in the US or Canada
Professional appearance and presentation required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Must be able to work well in a group and independently.
Excellent English-based communication skills, technical writing and verbal skills required.

Documented industry experience with enterprise level CFD analysis tools ANSYS Fluent and/or CFX (preferred)
Ability to communicate with customers on a technical pre-sales basis to help drive software and services sales
Creativity
Superb problem-solving and analytical skills
Solid theoretical background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and numerical methods backed up by real-world, production-level experience
Documented experience (as evidenced by industry experience and/or publications in reputable journals) in at least one of these areas: heat transfer, combustion, turbomachinery, multiphase flow, aerodynamics, fluid structure interaction (FSI)
Familiarity with grid generation and meshing techniques (Workbench Meshing, ICEM, Fluent Meshing/T-Grid, Gridgen, Hypermesh)
Personable attitude with an ability to work well with clients and other staff
Bachelor's degree in engineering required; master's or PHd preferred
For Canadian candidates only:
eligible and willing to apply for a professional engineering license within 2 years of starting
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE (NOT REQUIRED):
Programming skills in C, Fortran, and Python, and experience with User Defined Functions (UDF's) and /or CFX Expression Language (CEL)
"Whole System" mindset including aspects such as: Fluid Structure Interaction (FSI), Electromagnetic and Fluid interaction (ex: Solenoids)
Simplorer/Simulink system level analysis
Academic background or work experience in structural mechanics (FEA), electromagnetics (EM) or controls
Ability to use 3D CAD to modify parts and assemblies (SpaceClaim Direct Modeler, DM, Solidworks, ProE or Unigraphics preferred)
Practical ANSYS experience manipulating and/or modeling complex 3D assemblies
Experience with optimization and DOE methods
Teaching experience
