    JOB TITLE:
    JANITOR





    SUMMARY:
    A sanitation employee is responsible for following proper procedures & specifications while cleaning industrialized equipment to ensure food safety.


    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



    • Cleaning and maintaining the interior and exterior of the plant, including but not limited to: floors, walls, ceilings, pipes and fixtures as well as the restrooms and break room.



    • Assists with properly weighing waste and recording it correctly at the end of each shift, per company specifications.



    • Must pick up all trash inside/outside of the plant, emptying wastebaskets and empty/clean outside ashtrays.



    • Comply with all company policies, rules & regulations regarding safety, personal hygiene (GMP's), operational methods and food safety guidelines.



    • Must be willing & able to work in any area of the plant (inside or outside) and in/around the assembly line to assist in cleaning or change-over's as needed.



    • Must be available to occasionally work on a different shift depending on staffing needs, per supervisor discretion to cover vacations, absences, etc. as well as work overtime if/when needed, per supervisor request.



    • Must report any food safety issues, discrepancies, suggestions and/or complaints to the Sanitation Manager or another member of management immediately.



    • Must have the ability to work around & clean a variety of ingredients, including Fish, Tree Nuts (Almonds & Coconut), Red Dye # 40, Yellow Die # 5, Dairy, Whey & Peanuts as well as other allergens.



    • Required to complete all required training, including safety, GMP, etc.



    • Must maintain a clean & safe work area at all times.



    • Other duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager and/or Management.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or GED is preferred (not required). One to three months related experience and/or training is preferred, bakery experience is a plus.


    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Must have the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos.


    MATHMATICAL SKILLS:

    Must have the ability to do basic math in recording waste as required for the position.


    REASONING ABILITY:


    Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.






    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


    This position requires the ability to stand, bend and/or stoop for extended periods of time doing repetitive motion while performing the various duties of this job, including using hands & fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls as well as to reach with hands and arms.

    This position requires frequent lifting, walking, climbing and balance.


    This position requires the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    This position requires working near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme heat and/or cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


    FOOD SAFETY & QUALITY:

    As an employee of AbiMar Foods, Inc. it is your duty to ensure all of the products manufactured in this facility are safe for the consumers. Therefore, all employees are responsible for reporting food safety issues and/or concerns to their direct supervisor immediately.

    All employees must understand and follow the food safety rules and GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices) as explained in the Employee Handbook in order to provide safe quality food (SQF) to the consumer.

    Additionally, employees must be able to demonstrate comprehension of the GMP's by verbal explanation, which is a minimum job requirement for all positions.

    Finally, SQF/GMP violations can result in disciplinary action up to an including termination of employment.

    Safety is EVERYONE's responsibility at AbiMar Foods, Inc.

    All employees are responsible for knowing and following all safety rules as provided in the Employee Handbook and Safety Code Book as well as job specific training.

    All safety issues and/or concerns must be reported to management immediately. Safety violations can result in disciplinary action up to and including termination of employment.
