- Reviews active and inactive case reports and sets hearings and issues notices as necessary;
- Prepares orders, notices, and correspondence on routine matters;
- P roofreads and finalizes recommend ed and preliminary orders drafted by Administrative Law Judges (ALJs ) ;
- Maintains paper and electronic case files for ALJs including docketing all orders, notices, and reports into the case management system;
- Maintains the court calendar for ALJs including arranging and coordinating hearing locations statewide, locating and reviewing files, and preparing minutes;
- Prepares files and materials for court hearings;
- Accepts party filings, dockets, and distributes copies;
- Reviews documents for accuracy;
- Answers phone lines, routes calls, and operates all office equipment;
- Provides information to ALJs , other OAH staff, parties , and the public;
- Orders and inventories office supplies;
- Performs routine administrative support tasks;
- Prepares case status reports for the Chief Administrative Hearing Officer and other ALJs as requested .
- High school graduation or equivalent;
- A minimum of two years of experience as a court clerk, legal secretary/assistant, or a related position; three years preferred.
- Knowledge of general offi ce practice s and procedures;
- Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation;
- Knowledge of legal practices and procedures;
- Knowledge of Idaho administrative contested case proceedings preferred;
- Skill in the use of Windows Office software;
- Ability to follow complex verbal and written instructions;
- Ability to prioritize and organize work;
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with ALJs , co-workers, and the general pub lic;
- Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 30 lbs.;

The newly-created Office of Administrative Hearings (OAH) is seeking a full-time Deputy Clerk.
OAH's central office is located in downtown Boise .
The t ypical s chedule is in-person Monday through Friday , although as a legal position, occasional off-hours work may be required to fully discharge duties and meet deadlines.
