- Provide emergency interventions to schools in Saginaw County who may have children experiencing issues due to emotional, behavioral or mental health concerns.
- Shows understanding of the intentional and unintentional effect of his/her of own professional demeanor in response to individuals who are demonstrating acute psychiatric instability. Uses confrontation avoidance techniques. Is thoughtful about the safety of others and acts responsibly. May make reports to Child and Adult Protective Services according to state law.
- Provides assessment and clinical leadership for the team when intervening in a crisis situation.
- Provide crisis and follow up services to children in their homes, school or other community setting to assure treatment and safety concerns are met.
- Function as a member of a community-based mental health team in diagnostic formulation and implementation of mental health services, short term crisis interventions and plans for children, adolescents and their families.
- Coordinate services of the MRSS crisis team with other community agencies; police, schools, hospitals, courts, to identify and obtain emergency resources and services for children and families in a mental health crisis.
- Serve as a consultant to case managers, teachers, school counselors and other clinicians to provide services to children and families who are involved in the System of Care (SOC).
- Responds to emergency phone calls from community agencies and families to help alleviate a mental health crisis and provide information about additional resources and follow up services.
- Work closely with SCCMHA crisis services providing follow up care and assistance to screen and refer families to acute mental health services as well as diversion services.
- Maintain records, reports and legal documents in the SCCMHA medical record.
- Assist with transportation needs of families in crisis.
- Adheres to the mission, vision, core values and operating principles of SCCMHA at all times.
- May attend meetings, workshops or other public mental health activities to assist the community.
- May perform various administrative functions such as preparing reports and appearing in court.
- Attends meetings, seminars, workshops and community events related to the public mental health mission to sustain professional competency.
- Other incidental duties as assigned.

- Excellent communications skills with respect to listening, oral, written, and public speaking.
- Ability to handle individuals who may be distributive or potentially violent.
- Ability to understand individuals from all social, economic, and cultural backgrounds.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Hearing acuity to converse in person and on telephone.
- Visual acuity to observe consumers behavior, read and proofread documents and use EHR and other electronic devices.
- Ability to walk, stand or sit for extended periods of time.
- Manual dexterity to write and to operate standard office equipment (PC, Keyboard, Copy Machine, Fax Machine, etc.)
- Ability to lift and carry files and supplies at least 20 pounds.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with leadership, employees, consumers and the general public.
- Analytical skills necessary to conduct research, analyze, and interpret complex data and identify and solve problems by proposing courses of action.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
Under the general supervision of Mental Health Supervisor (Mobile Response and Stabilization Services-MRSS), provides clinical services as a member of a mobile, community-based crisis intervention team to children and their families.
Also, provides daily crisis intervention services to Saginaw County schools, assisting children and families who may be in a crisis and need assistance accessing services and receiving therapeutic interventions.
This position will be knowledgeable about and actively support culturally competent recovery-based practices; person centered planning as a shared decision-making process with the individual, who defines his/her life goals and is assisted in developing a unique path toward those goals; and a trauma informed culture of safety to aid consumer in the recovery process.

Works in schools, family homes, community settings to provide services to children and families as a member of a treatment unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Master's degree in a mental health related field from an accredited school.
Experience:
A minimum of one (1) year of experience in the examination, evaluation, and treatment of minors and their families including dealing with individuals in crisis situations.
Licenses and Credentials:
Valid Michigan Driver's license with a good driving record.
A limited licensed master's social worker (LLMSW), licensed master's social worker (LMSW), limited licensed professional counselor (LLPC), licensed professional counselor (LPC), limited licensed marriage and family therapist (LLMFT), licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT), limited licensed psychologist (LLP) and licensed psychologist (LP).
