    Job Description:


    The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient care, through the initiation and continuation of the nursing process; a plan of care is developed based upon assessed identified needs.

    The Registered Nurse works closely with the medical staff, as well as other professional staff, ancillary department members, visitors and families.


    Job Requirements:
    GN, GVN, or TEMPORARY PERMIT Required for some positions

    REGISTERED NURSE Required for some positions

    LIC VOC NURSE Required for some positions

    CPR Required within 90 days

    Neonatal Resuscitation Program Required within 1 year of employment

    Breastfeeding education Required within 2 years of employment

    Additional Comments


    Labor & Delivery staff must be certified in ACLS or acquire within the first year of employment and maintain certification.

    Fetal monitoring certification and RNC in Inpatient Obstetrics is encouraged.


    Pediatric staff must be certified in PALS, and maintain certification, and complete an advanced dysrhythmia course within first year of employment.

    ENPC and a chemotherapy provider course may be required for some positions.


    All licensed staff in W/C are required to complete basic and advanced breastfeeding courses within 2 years of employment and receive periodic updates in education.
