City-State, LLC is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) in Oak Ridge, TN.

Job Description:

The Mechanical Engineer will assist in the design, engineering, and integration of Target Systems. Responsibilities include providing detailed drawings, design specifications, and testing support for assigned projects under senior engineer guidance. This role reports to the STS Neutron Production Systems Group Leader.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

Prepare accurate drawings and design-related documents.
Collaborate with team members and external partners throughout the design process.
Contribute to R&D and prototyping efforts.
Work on a variety of project documents such as 3-D CAD models, technical specifications, and installation plans.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or similar field.
2+ years of experience in mechanical systems design or testing.
Proficiency in 3-D CAD modeling.
Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven track record in complex engineering work.
Experience in remote handling equipment design.
Knowledge of nuclear applications or radiation fields.
Proficiency in Creo for CAD design.
Strong understanding of engineering principles.
Familiarity with drafting standards and control systems.
Additional experience in relevant field can be advantageous.
