    Summary



    THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

    This National Guard position is for a Logistics Management Specialist, Position Description Number D1232P02 and is part of the Georgia Army National Guard.

    This is a full-time, Excepted Permanent, dual status position which requires Georgia Army National Guard Membership.

    Area of Consideration: Current members of the Georgia Army National Guard.



    Duties


    As a Logistics Management Specialist, GS , you will:

    • Serve as the ARNG Food Program Manager responsible and accountable for oversight of the entire state ARNG Food Service program which includes the administration of the Food Service Budget, Awards Program, new equipment Fielding's, training, Army Food Management Information System (AFMIS) and inspections. Exercise knowledge and application of Department of Army (DA), Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), National Guard Bureau (NGB), and state ARNG directives, policies and procedures, subsistence handling, storage, and sanitation methodology, plus food prime vendor food service ordering system, in addition to basic subsistence accounting procedures.
    • Maintain oversight of daily, weekly, monthly, and long term system requirements, ARNG Readiness Center equipment modifications, and requirements to meet current workload demands. Budget for subsistence operations and subsistence requirements, including operational ration ceilings. Assess use of facilities and equipment, to ensure expeditious accomplishment of priority work without adverse impact on normal, recurring work. Develop for the DCSLOG-G4 recommendations, policies, procedures, long range plans, and special projects. Recommend solutions to controversial problems and actions of a precedent-setting nature, to include coordination with major commands and the Army Center of Excellence, Subsistence. Participate in field exercise planning sessions, discussing availability of subsistence, budgets, issue of operational rations and ARNG support to exercises. Serve as Chairperson and as a voting member of The Adjutant Generals Food Service Management Board. Responsible for planning and oversight of subsistence support to ARNG units and dining facilities. Coordinate veterinary staff support for cyclic inspections of operational rations as required. Maintain oversight of facility and subsistence security to ensure theft prevention, unexplained losses, and unauthorized entry procedures are enforced.
    • Monitor the AFMIS to ensure reporting requirements from local, DA, NGB, and vendors are timely and contain accurate and formatted data. Monitor daily flow of data from customers and its return to customers. Perform daily validation processing cycles. Technical and functional knowledge of system operation is required in the performance of these tasks and in troubleshooting associated problems within the system as they occur. Work daily with functional users and technical personnel to identify and resolve operational and technical problems, and to ensure flow of data and procedures are the most efficient possible.
    • Assist and coordinate with functional specialists in the identification of operational requirements and the conversion of these requirements into automated systems documentation. Analyze data automation policies, regulations and procedures to determine their impact on logistics information systems and to identify changes in the maintenance and use of computerized data by functional specialists. Perform extensive consultation services and provide guidance to functional specialists on the maintenance, evaluation, documentation and standardization of requirements and procedures. Assist with researching and originating of concepts to introduce and integrate new technologies without direction or guidance from higher headquarters.
    • Provide troubleshooting support by analyzing, studying, reviewing, testing, and interpreting information provided by user to determine whether hardware of software problems exists. Expand analysis to include/incorporate technical expertise/knowledge/source in determining the solution. Retrain, guide, and define system operation if problem resides with functional user. If software problem determine if it can be resolved locally, and if not, prepare correspondence to proponent for resolution. Develop a procedure to temporarily correct the problem until resolved. Prepare and submit work request when required and test the repair on completion by repair technician.
    • Provide technical liaison service to each ARNG unit, prime vendor, and other vendor companies. Provide subsistence support for troop movements, maneuver, and emergency and contingency plan requirements, in addition to normal and daily support. Perform oversight of customer and stockage requirements determination process and proper pricing of subsistence. Coordinate prime vendor and other vendor deliveries to ARNG dining facilities and unit Readiness Centers as required. Compute and publish the Basic Daily Food Allowance (BDFA) for the ARNG State. Initiate request for deviation from regulations and DLA supply catalogs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
