In our **70 years as a non-profit**, the Sunshine Terrace Foundation has grown from a small nursing home housing twelve, to a campus of short-term & long term health services that include rehabilitation, assisted living, senior exercise, health education, and multiple types of therapy. We have a dietary staff at both our Assisted Living & Skilled Nursing Facilities, this gives us **more time to provide the best meals possible for our residents**. Some of our residents have lost their ability to do their favorite hobbies, or be able to order Chinese takeout whenever they wish; so **we cater to every residents needs**. From a grilled cheese to a burger & fries, we strive to make their stay with us as enjoyable as possible.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities** include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.
Prepares minimal food items such as fruits, toast, and beverages with the instruction of the cook.
Prepares silverware and napkins.
Prepares dining room areas for meals.
Collects and stacks dirty dishes on cart and returns them to the kitchen.
Washes dishes and cleans dish area, tables, cabinets, and meal carts.
Collects and places garbage and trash in designated containers.
Cleans dining room areas after meals.
Performs cleaning duties as scheduled.
Prepares food items according to menus, extension menus, and recipes.
Prepares special food/meal requests.
Tastes and smells prepared food to determine quality and palatability.
Monitors temperature of hot and cold foods through food preparation and service to ensure that established temperature goals are met prior to steam table and throughout meal service.
Properly stores and uses leftovers.
Apportions and places food servings on plates and trays according to diet order/special request on serving card.
Checks plates/trays for accuracy and delivery at scheduled time.
Monitors temperatures of refrigerators and freezers.
Washes all dishes and utensils used in meal preparation.
Oversees department staff when Dietary Director is not present.
**CONSISTENT SCHEDULE**
We pride ourselves in being able to **reasonably accommodate our employees scheduling needs**. Shifts are from 6:00 or 6:30am to 1:00pm and 1:00 pm- approx. 7:30 or 8:00pm **.** Our staff understands that our residents need 24/7 care and are **willing to work holidays and weekends on a rotating schedule.**
**QUALIFICATIONS**
Several months related experience or training preferred
Must be at least 16 years of age
Requires Food Handlers permit or ServSafe certification within one month of hire
Requires excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork skills
Ability to multi-task
