The VA Los Angeles Healthcare System seeks full-time Primary Care Staff Physicians.

Seeking Primary Care Physicians for our Greater Los Angeles (GLA) VA with opportunities at West LA Main Facility, Sepulveda, and Santa Maria Clinics. Duties include but are not limited to providing comprehensive care from screening for mental health concerns such as PTSD, depression, and military sexual assault trauma to substance use/abuse; diagnosing primary care needs from acute to chronic illness to gender-specific care. Must be able to evaluate and treat uncomplicated mental health and substance use disorders; coordinate specialty care when needed and provide preventative care for age-appropriate cancer screenings, weight management counseling, and immunization. Caring for our Veterans is an integrated process requiring engagement across medical specialties and teams. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong background in clinical excellence with a commitment to education. Previous experience in teaching is preferred, as our inpatient consult service and outpatient clinics have residents working closely with attendings.

GLA VA is a Level 1A complexity tertiary care health delivery organization that provides comprehensive care to one of the largest Veteran populations in the VA system. It covers a large geographic area with 11 sites, including an Inpatient Facility, Community Clinics, and Ambulatory Care Centers. GLA is a state-of-the-art teaching hospital providing a full range of health services, including comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and extended care programs for veterans. Additionally, the Los Angeles VA and 11 sites are committed to supporting research and educational programs to improve tomorrow s healthcare.

Work Schedule: Monday Friday, 8:00 am-4:30pm

Qualifications: Must be a U.S. CitizenEducation: Degree of Doctor of Medicine or an equivalent degree in allopathic or osteopathic medicine Must be LCME accredited or approved by the Commission on Osteopathic College of Accreditation of the American Osteopathic AssociationMust possess a current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a state, territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia. Residency: Must have completed residency in an accredited core specialty ACGME or AOA orOther residencies (non-US residency training programs followed by a minimum five years of verified practice in the US); must be approved by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee.Preferred minimum of 5 years of practice, but not required. Must be Board CertifiedInternal Medicine expertise.
