Faculty/ Investigator - Los Angeles, United States - Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation
Description
Job Description
Job DescriptionSalary:The Terasaki Institute for Biomedical Innovation is seeking to recruit an innovative and entrepreneurial scientist working at the cutting edge of biotechnology.
Appointments will be made at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level. This individual would join a dynamic and collaborative research community of basic scientists, engineers, data scientists, and disease experts. Candidates finishing their postdoctoral research are encouraged to apply.
Ideal candidates will lead a research program aimed at developing new biotechnology with applications in human disease. The successful applicant is expected to conduct research and submit research grants leading to independence as an investigator. Research that falls outside of or cuts across traditional disciplines is welcomed. We are especially seeking colleagues who are excited about drawing inspiration from the work of neighboring disease experts and scientists and putting their technology into practice through collaborations.
Candidates will be expected to run an experimental lab and may also have a computational component to their research program. They will be expected to develop extramurally sponsored research programs and to be committed to mentoring graduate students and postdocs. Demonstrated commitment to mentoring students from groups that are historically underrepresented in biomedical science is valued.
QUALIFICATIONS
We invite applications from scientists with Ph.D., M.D., or M.D/Ph.D. (or equivalent) degrees who have a strong background in bioengineering, genomics, systems biology, imaging, synthetic biology, chemical engineering, or related fields. We seek candidates whose experience, teaching, research, or community service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
The application should clearly state the research technologies your lab will develop. To receive full consideration, please submit all materials by the initial review date. However, this position will remain open until filled.
