    Job Description

    We are seeking a Guest Service Agent who is passionate about customer service and ensuring our guests have a wonderful experience. This role involves greeting customers with a friendly welcome, using a positive speaking voice, listening to understand requests, and responding with appropriate action.

    The ideal candidate will be able to input and retrieve information from a computer system, confirm pertinent details, promote hotel marketing programs, and make room selections based on guest needs. They will also be responsible for verifying and imprinting credit cards, handling cash, making change, and balancing the house bank.

    Responsibilities

    • Greet customers immediately with a friendly and sincere welcome.
    • Complete the registration process by inputting and retrieving information from a computer system.
    • Verify and imprint credit cards for authorization using electronic acceptance methods.
    • Handle cash, make change, and balance the house bank.
    • Promptly answer the telephone using positive and clear English communication.
    • Close guest accounts at time of check out and ascertain satisfaction.
    • Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency and/or heavy hotel activity, and resolve complications.

    Qualifications

    • Education: High school diploma preferred.
    • Experience: No prior experience required; prior hospitality experience preferred.
    • Licenses or certificates: No special licenses required.
    • Grooming: All employees must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance.

    Salary Information

    This role offers a competitive salary, with a starting wage of $15 per hour plus shift differential pay. After 90 days, employees are eligible for a salary increase.

    The Hanover Inn Dartmouth is a historic hotel located in Hanover, New Hampshire. It has a rich legacy of hospitality dating back to its opening in 1780.
