The Bolon lab has an open position for a postdoctoral scholar. We are seeking a curiosity-driven scientist that is interested in the relationships between protein sequence, function, and fitness.

Our lab developed the first systematic approach to quantify how each possible point mutation in a protein impacts its function.

We continue to develop and use these comprehensive mutational scanning approaches to investigate the biophysical rules that underlie protein function.

We can guide and teach you the ins and outs of mutational scanning including library and selection strategies, sequencing and bioinformatics tools; and we will also guide and encourage you to develop your own project ideas, by including you in our planning and discussions.

We have ongoing efforts to study the Hsp90 chaperone system that assists in the function of most kinases as well as studies of drug resistance in viral proteins including Mpro from SARS-CoV2.

Our lab has a strong commitment to a supportive lab culture that includes individual research and learning plans tailored to each individual.

You will have both a project and a life that you love here.

Please see our lab website for more information:

Please make your application through the UMass Chan application portal.
