    SUMMARY
    The Project Engineer provides engineering support to project teams. At this level, the individual is gaining experience and has the ability to take on some tasks without supervision. You must understand, design and independently prepare technical engineering plans. You must effectively collaborate with technicians to complete technical design plans.

    You will provide assistance in all technical aspects of projects, conduct engineering research, assessments, and coordinate with private consultants and public agencies.


    RESPONSIBILITIES
    Technical


    • Carries out tasks assigned by the Project Lead and engineering team.
    • Develops working drawings for civil design plans in AutoCAD Civil 3D (grading, drainage, utility, stormwater management and street frontage improvements) from sketches.
    • Uses engineering judgment to perform duties and knows when to ask questions, seek assistance or perform independent research.
    • Manages personal time allotted to various tasks in order to meet obligations of one or more projects, including budget, quality and schedule.
    • Provide accurate design of on-site and off-site improvements for the planning and construction of commercial, industrial, and/or high-density residential projects that are ready for construction.
    • Can provide accurate design of grading, drainage, utilities and stormwater treatment with minimal input from engineer of record.
    • Performs civil engineering calculations, SWPPP's and other engineering reports.
    • Effectively interacts with peers, clients, and sub-consultants.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    EDUCATION + EXPERIENCE


    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent level of experience
    • 2-5 years of experience in land development
    • Engineering in training (EIT) or Professional Engineering License, CA
    • General knowledge of computers, Microsoft office, Adobe, Internet, etc.
    • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Bluebeam, required
    • Additional software experience a plus, e.g. Bluebeam, Agtek,
    Hydrology/Hydraulic

    • Prolonged periods of standing/walking (field checks)
    • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (field checks)
    • Occasional travel e.g. driving to offices, jobsites, client meetings, etc.
