Job Summary And Qualifications

The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services related to common nursing functions and activities of daily living.

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the PCTassiststhe nursing staff in providing patient carein accordance withthe PCT's skills/training and the needsof thedepartment, andconsistentlyassiststhe patient care team withmaintaininga clean, well-organized, and safe patient care environment.

The PCTcomplies withall hospital policies/procedures andobservesthe State Board of Nursing rules for unlicensed personnel.

What you will do in this role:

Demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provideappropriate carefor patient populations served in his/her department.
Maintain a safe environment.
Communicate pertinent information toappropriate individuals.
Deliver compassionate, holistic care, while supporting the rights and dignity of all patients.
Document patient care informationintheappropriate computerscreens.
You willassistwithADL's forassigned patients.

What qualifications you will need:
High School Diploma or GEDrequired.
State Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification or documented Patient Care Tech (PCT) experiencerequired.

Can beformerRN Nursing student who has successfully completed the first nursing clinical semester or Completion of State approved CNA course, or CNA certificate.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationrequiredwithin30 daysof employment start date.
1 year of PCT experience preferred.

Parkridge East Hospital is a 120+ bed facility in East Ridge. Weprovidea full range of medical and surgical services. These services include orthopedics and robotic surgery. We have a 24/7 Emergency Department. This ED is recognized by the Society of Chest Pain Centers as an Accredited Chest Pain Center. The facility also offers obstetrical care and complex gynecological procedures. We also hold a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Specialized providers in the NICU include neonatologists, neonatalnursesand respiratory therapists.
These staff are on site at all times.
