Job Title:
Quality Assurance Manager
The Quality Assurance Manager provides leadership and guidance for the department, works to improve core processes, and manages projects. They will accept ownership to ensure the staff is developed in all quality assurance functions. They should have excellent communication and listening skills with strong observational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
They should have a clear understanding of regulatory compliance and be skilled in understanding scientific and technical data.
This person also works to develop a clear understanding of the business and technical aspects of the quality assurance function to support the entire organization.
DAILY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES of the Quality Assurance Manager
Manage all document control for Epic and keep up to date for regulatory compliance.
Submit required reports to regulatory bodies.
Manage all concentration and ingredient ordering.
New product development.
Manage all water systems including operations, process and treatment, documentation, reporting and monitoring.
Develop and recommend systems and procedures related to water operations; develop cost estimates for supplies and equipment as needed.
Create SOPs as needed.
Responsible for all quality audits including PepsiCo, AIB, FDA, OSHA.
Responsible to ensure HACCP, GMP, Safety, OSHA, SOP's and all quality programs are being followed.
Responsible for all month end/year-end inventory counts for ingredients.
Work with our co-packing customers for all ingredients and batching needs; communicate yields and any inventory true ups.
Work with all managers and supervisors as needed for quality, process, and policy adherence.
Attend meetings as required.
Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
DESIRED of the Quality Assurance Manager
Bachelor's degree in science or business-based programs.
Previous experience in production or manufacturing.
Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational and leadership skills.
In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.
Strong knowledge of mathematics, data analysis, and statistical methods.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Leadership.
Excellent Problem Solving/Analysis and review skills.
Outstanding organizational and communication skills.
Results Driven.
Ability to teach and mentor.
High degree of attention to detail.
Strong technical and computer skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & ABILITIES:
The employee must be able to work 8+ hour shifts.
The ability to work frequent overtime hours.
The ability to work weekends if/when required.
The employee must be able to sit, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms on a frequent basis.
The employee must be able to work in a cold and hot environment.
Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
