- Greeting customers to ascertain what each customer needs or wants
- Finding the desired vehicles using available resources
- Offering test drives on vehicles that customers are interested in
- Effectively listening to customers' needs and providing appropriate recommendations
- Negotiating and closing sales deals with customers
- Selling service contracts, gap insurance, and additional products
- Advising customers on the relative merits of vehicles and related services
- Following up with customer inquiries and building a customer database
- Establishing and developing rapport with customers
- Maintaining a current and comprehensive understanding of all company products
- No automotive sales experience required.
- Excellent listening, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to create and maintain relationships with customers.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to meet monthly sales and profit targets.
- Knowledge of computer databases and Salesforce.
- Comfort working with numbers and strong aptitude for math.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Formal sales training is a plus.
