- Teach students in all departments: Preschool, Elementary, Middle School, & High School
- Develop a rigorous, objective, and standards-driven arts enrichment curriculum inclusive of, but not limited to, arts, theatrical arts, audio/video technology, and communications
- Excellent classroom management skills and provide positive behavior intervention with support
- Ability to use technology: Google Drive, PowerSchool, and Schoology
- Collaborate with others in the visual arts department, Drama Club, Dance Teacher, etc
- Attend training to keep current with technology and TV Studio equipment
- Support the school's Strategic Planning initiatives with an emphasis on strengthening the culture.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Excellent classroom management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and administrators
- Demonstrated knowledge of content area
- Ability to establish rapport and build professional relationships with students
- Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills
- Master's degree in special education, Deaf Education, or related field
- Current NY State Teaching Certification
- Experience providing instruction to students who are deaf and hard of hearing
- American Sign Language (ASL) proficiency
- Required clearance include: Medical clearance, fingerprinted by the NYC Board of Ed and SCR and SEL clearance.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of walking in and around the building
- Must be able to lift 15 lbs. at times
