    Summary

    The Histology Technician will be responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease.

    The technician will be responsible for preparing tissue samples for examination by a pathologist.

    Job Responsibilities
    Prepare tissue samples for examination by a pathologist
    Embedding patient samples in paraffin
    Cutting paraffin blocks on microtome
    Perform H&E staining
    Operate and maintain laboratory equipment
    Ensure quality control and quality assurance measures are followed
    Record and maintain accurate laboratory data
    Assist in the development and implementation of new laboratory procedures
    Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and procedures
    Minimum Qualifications
    Experience working in a histology laboratory preferred
    Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    Ability to work independently and as part of a team
