    Loan Administration at Valon

    The Loan Administration team at Valon powers our operations and ensures we continue to run smoothly. We onboard loans, handle insurance, process payments, and offer a first-class experience to Valon's homeowners from behind the scenes.

    About the Role

    We are looking for a Property Insurance Supervisor who will manage our Property Insurance team but is also able to navigate through multiple facets of the escrow sector of a fast-growing technology and operations-focused business. This role is responsible for leading the insurance team and ensuring accurate insurance records and timely payment of insurance disbursements on escrow accounts. This role monitors the work of the outsourced vendors to ensure all applicable laws, regulations, and requirements are met. The Property Insurance Supervisor will also provide direct assistance to the homeowner by resolving escalations and inquiries. You'll be working closely with other Escrow teams, as this team and vertical continue to grow

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise the day-to-day operations to ensure all are completed timely and accurately, including but not limited to the movement of checks and wire funds relating to escrow, the maintenance of insurance lines, timely procurement, accurate processing of refunds, and resolution for any delinquent or late payments.
    • Manages tracking of homeowners insurance to ensure active policies on all accounts and timely payment of renewal policies.
    • Distributes and assigns work depending on various factors including workload and available resources.
    • Provide ongoing training for the insurance team and identify opportunities for cross-training. Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and developing team members to achieve optimal performance.
    • Help build out the property insurance team and operationalize new processes by creating training materials, writing standard operating procedures, documenting best practices, and driving the adoption of new procedures.
    • Serve as an internal subject matter expert for all property insurance-related processes, encompassing Hazard, Wind, and Flood requirements.
    • Perform quality checks and establish quality control protocols.
    • Liaise between all third-party vendors and ensure escalations are responded to timely and accurately.
    • Review, respond, and take corrective action for all audits and reviews.
    • Drives efforts to continue process efficiencies and improvements across servicing escrow operations, while also helping to identify potential opportunities to leverage automation.
    • Lead other escrow responsibilities and projects as assigned by management.

    Ideal Background

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience and/or a combination of experience and certifications related to the industry
    • 3+ years of experience at a mortgage servicing company in property insurance
    • 1+ years of Supervisor or Manager experience
    • Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae servicing experience preferred
    • Vendor management experience preferred

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Excellent critical thinking and logical reasoning abilities
    • Experience working with cross-functional teams to solve business problems and handle change management in a fast-paced environment
    • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to implement solutions in a collaborative manner
    • Excellent communication skills with all levels of internal and external management teams.
