    Posting Number S03648P Position Title IT Support Specialist II Functional Title Department Behavioral and Brain Sciences Salary Range 46000 Pay Basis Position Status Location Position End Date (if temporary) Posting Open Date 11/09/2021 Posting Close Date 01/31/2022 Open Until Filled Yes Desired Start Date 12/01/2021 Job Summary This position provides direct IT Support to School of Behavioral and Brain Sciences Faculty, Staff, and Student researchers at the University of Texas at Dallas Richardson campus. Scope of support includes enterprise services, business processes, software, hardware, desktop, mobile devices, network and systems. Works under general supervision, brings unusual or exceptional issues to supervisor. Minimum Education and Experience Associate degree or equivalent (computer related certifications) and 2 3 years experience. Hands-on experience installing and supporting hardware, software and networked systems in a multi-protocol environment. Proven ability to interact with all levels of computer users.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    Bachelors or Associates degree in IT systems or related field and at least two to three years of relevant experience OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Previous experience working in academic or research environments is a plus.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Maintain IT inventory

    Configure and deploy ITequipment for faculty and staff according to UTD policies

    Diagnose and remediate software /hardware issues in a thorough and timely manner

    Maintain detailed records of task progress/completion and communications with customers

    Effectively communicate IT policies and procedures with non-technical customers
