Description
SUMMARY:
The Project Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of requirements and specifications of projects across entire system design for products.
They will lead all technical aspects of test and measurement systems from project conception to completion in coordination with the System Engineer.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead
all technical aspects of test and measurement systems from project
conception to completion in coordination with the System Engineer.
Interprets
all aspects of the system design architecture and how each requirement is
met by the design. Understands the underlying design steps required to
implement the design (design a filter, specify mechanical assembly
requirements etc.). Develop the documentation required to build and
reproduce the design.
Defines
how each assembly will be verified: Starts with the conceptual Acceptance
Test Procedure. Adds all the detailed steps to make it ready to run
(defines any software to be written, test cables to be assembled, fixtures
to be fabricated etc.). Defines the testing required to verify all
subassemblies.
Quantifies
and addresses the areas of risk: Determines what areas of the design
involve risk, creates & executes a strategy to minimize and deal with
this risk.
Oversees
the functional designs:
Answer questions and provides clarification to the
functional design teams. Reviews the documentation to make sure it agrees
with customers design specifications as well as making sure all
documentation is coherent and all pieces fit together as a project.
Provide
direction, coordination, planning and organization to overall Engineering
Design Team assigned to a specific project.
Provides
engineering information by answering questions and requests from both
customers and manufacturing.
Reviews
and approves product specifications and customer user documentation for
the product.
Understands
how a system should be documented under HM standards. Know the process and
all document deliverables for a system: Cables, chassis, circuit cards,
mechanical assemblies, and software.
Analyze
data, present test results and initiate system design changes as required
for robustness and performance improvements.
MUST HAVE:
Bachelors
degree in Electrical Engineering
5-10
years of applicable experience
IPC
standards
Circuit
design and analysis
Wire
Harness and Cabling
Ability
to engage teams across different disciplines such as Electrical,
Mechanical and Software Engineering.
Process
and all document deliverables for a system: Cables, chassis, circuit
cards, mechanical assemblies, and software.
Engage
teams across different disciplines such as Electrical, Mechanical and
Software Engineering.
Excellent
verbal and written communication, documentation skills, along with
exceptional organizational abilities and attention to detail.
