    Job Description

    American Traveler is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with at least 2 years of nuclear medicine experience and NMTCB and BLS certifications.

    Responsibilities
    Hospital setting with both inpatient and outpatient cases, including adult and occasional pediatric patients
    Average caseload of 5-6 patients per day with 1:1 patient ratio
    Procedures include radiopharmaceutical preparation, administration, and advanced diagnostic nuclear imaging
    Equipment used includes gamma cameras, PET/CT, SPECT, Siemens ECAM, and GE 630 preferred
    Cerner RadNet EMR is used
    10-hour day shifts starting at 7:00 AM
    Weekday call required two shifts per week (5:00 PM-6:00 AM) and every 3rd weekend is a 24-hour on-call shift
    No floating to other units or departments required
    Duties include preparing and administering radiotracers, conducting patient imaging and scans, ensuring proper positioning and safety, and performing equipment quality control checks
    Orientation provided with one 8-hour session plus 2-3 shifts on unit
    Must be able to respond to emergency situations related to radiotracer administration
    Team structure allows support during intensive procedures
    Coverage for one major and one minor holiday may be required according to hospital policy
    First-time travelers with at least 2 years of experience are considered
    RTO approval required for more than 5 days off; contract extension needed to accommodate PTO
    Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible

    Requirements
    Minimum 2 years of nuclear medicine experience required
    Current NMTCB and BLS certifications required
    Skill in radiopharmaceutical preparation, patient imaging, and radiation safety
    Proficiency in IV access and emergency procedures during nuclear medicine processes
    Experience with Cerner RadNet preferred
    License required if applicable
    Perm staff must wait 6 months before being eligible for travel positions
