    Description


    The Seasonal Laborer position assists with grounds maintenance duties at the City of Waukesha Clean Water Plant grounds. Including cutting and trimming grass, building cleaning, painting and other miscellaneous tasks as needed.

    Job shadowing opportunities with operations, maintenance, and lab will be provided for those looking to start careers in the Wastewater field

    Seasonal Hours:
    • Memorial Day - Labor Day
    • Monday - Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
    • Hours may vary depending on operational needs.
    Hourly rate: $16.00 starting / $16.50 for returning seasonal staff

    Essential Duties:

    • Ability to operate equipment in a safe manner
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Must comply with City policies and procedures
    • Experience in grounds keeping including cutting and trimming grass, weeding, watering and trimming hedges or shrubbery
    • Miscellaneous building maintenance (cleaning, painting, etc.)


    Minimum qualifications & Requirements
    Required:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Valid driver's license
    • Must be 18 years of age or older and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
    Preferred:
    • Experience on lawn mower and trimmers
    • Student in field of environmental studies or related field

    • The employee is frequently exposed to adverse weather conditions including heat, cold, wetness and humidity; and to other unpleasant conditions such as dim lighting, dust, odors, noise, and vibration.
    • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally in excess of 50 pounds.
