    Description:

    We are currently seeking a Infrastructure Tech. Lead to work from our corporate office in Lisle, Illinois. Reporting to the Director of IT; this position assists with administration of servers, operating systems, internet, network connectivity, security, email, firewall administration, anti-virus tools and computer hardware diagnostics. Additional duties include troubleshooting / design of network architecture, including making recommendations for system fixes and enhancements, systems monitoring and maintaining documentation. This role is responsible for testing, configuration, and final implementation of various applications and systems.

    Position Responsibilities Include:


    • Manages and coordinates the administrative activities and operational support for large, complex Windows based systems and all its components (physically and virtually)


    • Responsible for coordination of Windows server hardware and software installation and upgrades


    • Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, takes appropriate corrective action and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting


    • Responsible for user training, hardware/software installation, maintenance and support


    • Coordinates user administration and defines group policies (adds, changes, deletes, disk space management, backups and file restores)


    • Supports application software owners by providing performance and capacity consultation for application performance improvements


    • Documents standards and operating procedures for the Windows based systems and acts as a technical resource to the IT staff and other less experienced Windows Admins.


    • Researches, proposes and implements newer technologies for overall Windows server landscape optimization


    • Analyze network systems, data, and IT practices; revise system operations by assisting with the implementation of policies, procedures, and systems as necessary to ensure best practices in accordance with NELLC procedures


    • Experience maintaining and monitoring network systems ensuring successful nightly backups, monitoring for operating system, application and hardware failures, and communicating support issues


    • Coordinate necessary training, providing knowledge for all new system features or modified features, and creating training documentation


    • Knowledge of the various principles, guidelines and best practices related to networking concepts and TCP/IP


    • Improves major business and customer processes by developing standardized approaches, creating the functional design and technical specifications, and then managing the development and implementation of the solution


    • Determines network / data center exposure / risks and presents alternative methods and processes when developing or establishing policies and strategic direction


    • Participates in the design of future systems to ensure maximum effectiveness; keeps abreast of system enhancements/potentials and recommends changes as appropriate


    • Acts as a Technical Lead with vendor relationships as it relates to on-going Windows admin. tasks


    • Oversees the policies and operations of the Exchange/Email environment


    • Provides leadership/support related to IT security software/tools/processes within and beyond the Windows environment


    • Uses troubleshooting and problem resolution skills to resolve PC and application problems reported by users


    • Follows up on all open calls / perform call-back as defined by procedure or as directed


    • Maintains accurate and timely call logs of inquiries and resolutions in the case management system


    • Acts as a leader in the implementation of support for new users, processes and software


    • Leads the effort to deploy technology in the field and at HQ as directed


    • Researches problems and documents solutions to provide knowledgebase for Service Desk


    • Responsible for PC, hardware and software physical inventory including receiving, unpacking, building/configuring and updating the appropriate asset management records


    • Periodically conducts physical inventory of PC's, peripherals and software


    • Collaborate with LAN technicians/network administrators to ensure efficient operation of the company's desktop computing environment


    • Owns moves, adds, and changes (MAC) requests from a CDT perspective


    • Serves as an escalation point for issues that cannot be resolved by Technical Support Analysts


    • Represents The IT Field Support organization with respect to technology, projects and change within the field


    • Provide off-hours support as needed


    • Other duties as assigned.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications:

    Position Requirements Include:


    • College degree or equivalent combination of education, training required MCDST, MSSA or MCSE strongly recommended


    • 7-10 years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience in Windows systems operations and administration


    • Experience in managing Security Software for anti-virus and advanced malware


    • Experience in managing SIEM Software


    • Experience Google Workplace administration/support


    • Must have expert PC skills with WIN OS (WIN7 / WIN10) and MS office applications


    • Demonstrated knowledge of MS AD, SharePoint, Exchange and anti-virus software


    • Support the administration of various systems including various operating systems, internet, network connectivity, security, email, firewall administration, anti-virus tools and computer hardware diagnostics


    • Telecom and Network Certifications are considered a plus (ex. CCNA)


    • Experience writing detailed unit and system test plans for small to medium sized projects, one or more years of development, understanding of relational database design, implementation and testing skills


    • Experience working in PC environment of 1,000 or more PC's


    • Experience with building PC's using imaging and installation scripts/task sequence via SCCM


    • Demonstrated aptitude to quickly learn new applications and technologies


    • Self-motivated with an energetic disposition


    • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language


    • Proven analytical and problem solving abilities


    • Customer-friendly attitude and ability to work in a team environment


    • Outstanding organization skills with keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines


    • Will be on call at all times to address any critical issues after hours


    • If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors


    • May require up to 30% travel to branches throughout North America as needed.
