- Conduct research on a variety of policy issues relevant to education, research, athletics and healthcare.
- Analyze legislative proposals, regulations, and government reports to provide insights and recommendations to the Federal Relations team.
- Assist in monitoring federal legislative and regulatory developments, tracking relevant bills, hearings, and policy discussions.
- Assist in preparing briefs, memos, and presentations summarizing research findings and policy implications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the coordination of advocacy efforts, including outreach to congressional offices, federal agencies, and advocacy organizations.
- Assist in collaborating with colleagues across departments to gather information, share insights, and coordinate advocacy strategies.
- Assist in organizing events, meetings, and briefings with policymakers, university leadership, and external partners.
Qualifications: - Currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Kentucky.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings effectively.
- Familiarity with the legislative process and understanding of policy issues impacting higher education, research, and healthcare preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience with research databases and legislative tracking tools is desirable.
- Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
