- Fosters persistence and completion by maintaining a caseload of first time in college and/or transfer students; utilizes college's early alert software as part of this caseload maintenance
- Monitors progress of students in caseload with check-ins, scheduled meetings or proactive outreach and communication, responding to student questions, concerns and needs
- Provide information about campus/community resources and college success strategies.
- Helps students in identifying, developing and implementing learning strategies and study skills specific to course materials
- Determine and eliminate college barriers to student success and satisfaction.
- Conducts academic coaching through individual or group sessions that help students assess their own performance and develop academic success plans
- Leads workshops on academic success strategies and any other related areas involving student success
- Participates in college committees and task forces related to academic advising, web-registration, etc. and work closely with faculty and academic affairs to develop student-centered processes.
- Implements Office of Student Success retention and persistence-based initiatives.
- Collaborates with various areas within and outside of the Student Services to facilitate student success, retention, and persistence.
- Assists with development of goals, objectives, and learning outcomes for the Office of Student Success, in support of the college's strategic plan.
