    Your Impact:
    • Experience with Structural Inspection/Design Engineer in the Midwest
    • Perform structural inspection and reporting of in-service highway bridges, including routine bridge inspection and fracture critical bridge inspection.
    • Experience with structural load rating of in-service highway bridges in accordance with the AASHTO MBE.
    • Structural design activities will also be performed on transportation projects.
    • Perform structural and civil engineering analysis and design various types of multi-material structures by applying in-depth knowledge and theory of mechanics of materials, reinforced concrete, prestressed concrete and steel design.
    • Responsibilities will include producing quality designs and plans, and interpreting plans from other engineering related disciplines (survey, utility, etc.) or firms.
    Who you are:
    • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering is required.
    • EIT is required.
    • Completion of FHWA-NHI- Course Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges is required.
    • FHWA/NBIS qualified Routine Bridge Inspection Team Leader is preferred.
    • FHWA/NBIS qualified Fracture Critical Bridge Inspection Team Leader is preferred.
    • Rope climbing experience/training is preferred.
    • Entry level to 4 years of bridge inspection/design experience is preferred.
    • Knowledge of DOT design manuals bridge design and plan preparation.
    • Knowledge of MicroStation and typical structural design and analysis software.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to use resources efficiently and effectively, take initiative and be highly motivated, work with a diverse group of engineers and technicians, adhere to a schedule, and demonstrate a good work ethic.
    • The successful candidate must have a desire to grow professionally in a mid-sized company environment and continue to grow our firm through our reputation for providing excellent consulting engineering services

    Work Environment
