This client's purpose is to strengthen both the individual and collective power of local governments and to help them recognize regional opportunities, eliminate unnecessary duplication, and make joint decisions.Job Site Location:Arlington, TexasPay Rate:$40.58 Per HourSchedule:8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Monday – FridayType/ Length of AssignmentMarch 11, 2024 through September 27, 2024; however it may extend or permanent hire is an option Job Summary:The purpose of this position is to administer and support enterprise geospatial applications and related databases that form part of the NCTCOG Geographic Information System (GIS) environment. This is accomplished by coordinating the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of various enterprise systems and applications. This position is the primary provider of these functions and requiresliaising with agency IT staff and other GIS staff in multiple departments.Duties/Responsibilities:
    • Administers GIS server(s); performs regular operating system updates; manages federation, authentication, and access control systems; creates and maintains webservices; monitors performance and utilization of the system(s) and databases including hardware resources; determines operational, technical, and system requirements for the location, installation, operation, and maintenance of data processing, data communication, system software, and server hardware.
    • Coordinates and/or conducts the analysis, design, and maintenance of database structures and schemas. Designs and implements procedures necessary to save, retrieve, and recover databases from hardware and software failures.
    • Plans, coordinates, and supports the installation of database software and migrations to new data management system software levels; verifies and tests the migrations to ensure data reliability and functionality.
    • Creates automation tools and scripts for data processes; configures automation routines; provides guidance in troubleshooting and problem-solving related to system software and hardware.
    • Works with vendors to ensure products operate as required; interfaces with internal and external technical support staff to resolve issues promptly;
    Education and Experience:
    • Work requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field. Knowledge is normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor's degree
    • Valid state-issued driver's license
    • Over three years up to and including five years
